Final post (except hall of fame) for this years’ Giro

Lots of things happend: 2 mountain stages and a sprint

Stage 19:

Nothing happened : Arrival in Champoluc after 5 mountains…. , with Del Toro and Carapaz (2nd and third) gaining 24 seconds + bonus on Yates and others

Stage goes to Proudhomme who also make a huge amount of points in the mountains

Stage 20:

Everything happened: a 4 climbs with Col Finestre (19km at 9%) and Sestriere (long but easy).

A breakaway of 30+ riders goes away and has 10 minutes before the Col Finestre. Van Aert in the breakaway

On Col Finestre Carapaz makes several attacks at the beginning of the climb with Del Toro always following and distance Yates… but they let Yates come back and then go away.

Yates gains 2 minutes on top of Finestre, the col where he los the giro in 2018.

He finds Van Aert on descent ang starts gaining. Del Toro waits for Carapaz to pull and Carapaz waits for Del Toro…. so Yates gains more than 6 minutes anf flips the game winning the Giro.

For the 7th time in 10 years, the giro is flipped on the last stage: 2016 Nibali, 2017 Dumoulin, 2018 Froome, 2020 Geoghegan Hart, 2022 Hindley, 2023 Roglic and 2025 Yates

Stage 21:

A sprint stage around Rome, with beautiful landscapes on Colisseum and Roman Ruins.

Van Aert shows why he is one of the best in school: pulling the sprint for Olaf Kooji on the final stage

The competition

Stage 19: Andrea Quadrelli’s Kangaroos+

Coming back from Australia, the Kangaroos win the stage of 5 mountains probably jumping form one to the other. Andra start to have some experience and he is playing it wisely

Stage 20: Supergiovane

Luca Giannella’s Ichnusa Beer also known as Supergiovane wins the stage. with his new powerful tech bike (most likely e-bike) he riders the mountain stage and wins the stage. We have somebody younger that Supergiovane today… but who cares, Supergiovane will be Supergiovane forever

Supergivoane was not aprt of the team who climbed the Col Finestre.

As every year the Tri-Gliceridi team is on the steepest mountains of the giro…. and as every year we get a world streaming spot

Stage 21: The final Combo

UCISander’s Habemus Victorem win’s his 4th stage this year… after a jest start with the sprinters, he lost positions in the mountains, just to reclaim the final sprint stage. You need to balance your team better

He win’s in tandem with Elena’s Team by Elena Mauro at her third Giro

Bonus stage: Final classification

The team that showed the best GC combination is Supergiovane’s Ichnusa Beer. He indeed has a good team of GCs but does not have enough sprinters

3rd) Michela Giro in giro nel giro

Stage 19; Stefania Iacoviello I Biscotti della Stefi

Stefania wins stage 19 and outsprints everyboudy making the gap to take the final mountain classification.

Stefania is part of a family feud… go beat your husband and son telling them you are in the hall of fame

Stage 20: Donkey Kong

Sometimes the random team scores a lot of points (usually when nobody else scores)…
