… terribly late, I lost 5 stage updates. A whole week

 

what happened during this week:

Stage 10 (ITT) | Viareggio – Massa GANNA Filippo

When Time Trials come , Filippo Ganna outpowers everybody – Bad day for Vingegaard, but not too much

Stage 11 | Porcari (Paper District) – Chiavari NARVÁEZ Jhonatan

NARVÁEZ wins third stage in this Giro. not bad for a guy who returned from injuries at the Giro, was supposed to work for his team, but then the 3 captains fell on stage 1 and he alone saved the Giro for his team

Stage 12 | Imperia – Novi Ligure SEGAERT Alec

A long range breakaway, alone for many km and was able to keep up to the line of the sprint and win the stage for a couple of meters

Stage 13 | Alessandria – Verbania BETTIOL Alberto

This stage was in the homeland of Ganna who tried an escape all day  but did not succeed. But this was also the home town of the girlfriend of Bettiol, who was at the finish line and the security had a hard time in refraining her from celebrating Bettiol

Stage 14 | Aosta – Pila (Gressan)  VINGEGAARD Jonas

Is this the end of the Giro? a team that outpowers everybody, with 4 men on the last climb just to launch Vingegaard to his first pink jersey. Can he be the next to win all 3 grand tours?

The contest

Well, blame it on the organizers, but I have been busy all week: One day running, one day swimming, one day cycling, one day a dinner out and one day at a family reunion…. too much…

Stage 10 – Time trial:

Stage won by Pablo and his Santander team – I believe this is the only Spanish team we have on board  – Pablo, you need to start recruiting other teams for next year

Pablo won in couple with Max’s Bloody Lowa – Max was one of the teams that was present on first edition and since then he has always named his teams Bloody something

GC – Leadership gained by Stefano Mambro’s Cobra Libre in tandem with Davide Guarisco’s Scatto Timido Team – I met recently both of them at a BBQ party: Cobra put the grill and the garden, but Davide was cooking the meat… well done

The MONKEY wins another stage:

Cobra Libre is leading alone

In the mountains, Marco Facciano’s Growing pink pearls in the yellow sand wins stage and takes the jersey by very few points

Stage 12: The Monkey

Tow stages in a row by the monkey..the random team wins more stages that most of the participants….

stage 13: on the lake

PI Pedalatore Intelligente by Antonio – A family feud…. Last year Giacomo made a brilliant Giro but this year Antonio is faster in winning his Giro stage. Last time I met Giacomo and Antonio, I was descending the Stelvio…. next time we will be climbing it together

Cobra is enjoying the pink jersey for the 4th day in a row and the classification is really short with 5 teams in 18 points. tomorrow is a real mountain stage, will he be able to hold the lead?

In the mountains the situation is even tougher with 10 teams in 20 points will this last?

stage 14: Real mountains

Kleijne –> Petit –> Piccolo Team wins together with Pizzoccheroman they score 104 points and just behind them are another 3 teams with 102 points

Disastrous stage for Cobra who loses the lead and drops to 6th position and is overtaken even by this little brother Biscia’s PEDALEMOLLE

The lead is now in the hand of LASONIL SPALMERS followed by plurichampion René Van Noort’s TEAM BITTERAL

In the mountains: Lasonil Spalmers win the stage followed by two teams that are starting to show up Dott. Foratura’s W LA PIGA and by Davide’s GAMBE_PISTONI

Lasonil Spalmers takes the lead also in the mountains.

I believe it is the first time we have someone holding both jerseys at this stage of the Giro
