Blockhaus – Vingegaard wins alone, but Pablo and Teo win in tandem

Blockhaus – one may wonder why it is so called, It seems that there was a guard house built by Austrian soldiers in 1863 and literally spelled by local people in a sort of italian tranlitering.

And Blockhaus is one of the hardest climbs in central Italy, initially shown in the Giro D’Italia in 1967 where Eddy Merkx obviously won.

And in 2o26, almost 60 or 160 years after Vingegaard wins taking 13 second on Felix GAIL who initally lost a lot of time but regained towards the end and fourth was Jay Hindley followed by Pellizzari just over a minute down to Vingegaard.
Pellizzari tried to follow Vingegaard but then cracked… Too young? too brave? too overestimated? we will see

The contest

The UCI point scheme, although similar to the traditional points system is giving too many points making the classification unreadable. For this reason i have decided to invert the priority of classifications giving priority to Come C’enno (old method) which is now the official scoring system. You can still read the Uci classification on a different tab.

Nothing really changed in the stages as the systems are similar, just smaller numbers make it more readable.

Having said this:

Another couple of colleagues (not mine, but within themselves) have won the stage in tandem SANTANDER by Pablo Alvarez Oliveri and PizzoccheroTeam by PizzoccheroMan win in tandem with 7 points advantage on another couple.

Almost every team had Pellizzari and Vingegaard, but as a plus these teams had a few other riders, making a remarkable 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th at the arrival…. they both miss number 6 Rondel Mathys. Yes, this guy is a surprise.

Pablo is a spanish guy who sometimes joins us in our adventures like last year on the Col di Finestre .  he also took part of the Equinox RUN&BEER..

Pizzoccheroman we spoke about yesterday….

Dear Pablo, we have a couple of new adventures coming, the next is a ride to Carì for the giro and in June we will be going across the Messina Strait. Then i have a couple of other ideas for the future. Keep in touch.

General classification:

TEAM BITTERBAL René van Noort is taking the lead by just 3 points on COBRA LIBRE

These guys are two of the inspirers of my projects the first with the Fantasy Giro, born as a conseuqnece of Rene’s Tour, the second for the Tri-Gliceridi team

Please thank both of them for creating the routes of this…

In the mountains….

Today was the first real mountain stage with Vingegaard taking it all.

Lorenzo’s IA Revenge wins the stage and Ed’s Bikey McBikeface.

Lorenzo is a guy who i met during my career in 2017. Talking about long range connection we found out that some 5 years before, Lorenzo was sitting in exactly the same chair where i was sitting 10 years earlier (we never crossed in the previous company). Lorenzo is also one of my sparring partners in a group chat where he would reply to certain jokes only me and him would understand with the rest of the public left astonished

Ed is an English guy who lives in Italy since i believe 20 years, and is a fan of Inter. a participant of the Giro since i know him, every year he wins at least one stage (and here he is) and is always competitive in the mountains. Dear Ed, i won two tickets for the Inter game in the company lottery for sunday (primo arancio)… tough luck, my son will come with me.

today the post was pretty long… so goodbye
